Week 4 Suicide Picks

If it wasn't bad enough that I got booted in week 1 I looked at how I would be doing if I had made it past that week.

My Week 2 pick won and both my Week 3 and Week 4 play picks both would have lost.

3 people picked Carolina!!!! 3 people from about as far away from each other had the same thoughts. One player from Mass, one from Louisiana and one from Hawaii.

60% of the pool gone and what could have been

We are now under 40 players left in the pool.

Trent Edwards leads the Buffalo Bills on a John Elwayesque game winning drive and the Bengals find yet another way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

If those 2 game so the other way there would be 6 players left after week 3.

The Dallas Cowboys are scary good this year and if Tony Romo can stop chaneling bad Bret Favre mojo then they might just be unstoppable.

This is the 1st time in almost 5 years that the Patriots have not had at least a share of the division lead yet the morons booed like they hadn't won a game in a month yesterday. People. It's football. Boo the heads of the financial institutions that are failing and who are still getting mind numbing compensation.

I will be rooting for the Atlanta Falcons this year. I want them to win 8 games. Maybe they can then remove the stench that is Michael Vick from their lives.

Lipstick, pigs and September 11.

Senator Obama may not be a MENSA member but he is a pretty bright guy.

If you are one of those tin foil hat wearing mouth breathers that believe his 'Lipstick on a pig' comment was totally unintentional all you need to do it watch or listen to the video. He had perfect comic timing waiting almost 3 seconds before saying it is still a pig.

The audience roared with laughter and they laughed because THEY thought he was talking about Governor Palin. If you can't admit it you are just as phony as the McCain campaign with the outrage they are showing.

I got the most honest answer last night from an Obama supporter as to why they are voting for him.

At work when I as people why they are voting for the Senator from Illinois they tell me:
Change.
Bush Sucks.
Because he will fight for me.

Well the woman from Comcast last night gave me a solid answer. She said she is voting for Obama because Biden wants to put a lot of money into the railroads of this country and her husband works for the railroad and she doesn't want him to lose his job.

I finally heard an answer I can respect.

As we observe the 7th anniversary on the terrorist attacks on America I think back to the mid 90's and I had personal checks with the United States flag flowing on the check.

I used to get stupid comments from people about the flag being on the check and never gave it a second thought.

After 9/11/2001 you needed to search far and wide to buy an American flag.

One of my most prized items is the flag that covered my great uncle Fran's casket during his funeral. He meant the world to me and passed away when I was 10 or so. I couldn't go to the gravesite because I was so sad. My grandmother received the flag at his funeral and she told my mother that she wanted me to have it when she was gone.

I have it framed and it is on the wall in my computer room.

Remember those who died during those attacks and the people they left behind.

Use your right and vote for the candidate of your choice this November. If you don't vote just shut the fuck up because you are part of the problem not the solution.

Week 1 Suicide Pool results and thoughts.

For the love of (insert higher power you pray to here) Week 1 was a bloodbath.

40 people were knocked out of the pool, including all the "proxy pick" players. While we are on the subject of the proxy pick this will be the last year. Here is the rule for the deadline:

Deadline means, if no pick by the specified time YOU ARE OUT!!!

Now if you OK'd me to make a proxy pick for you and I receive nothing by the deadline you get the team favored by the most points at the time of the deadline. This week it was Indianapolis.

I receive an e-mail from a player saying he sent in his picks before the deadline. Wow that's kind of funny because I didn't have him down for any picks.

I looked into my inbox and found nothing. I looked into the folder where i save all the pool e-mails. Nothing there.

I look into my Trash folder, I don't erase any e-mails until the pool is over, nothing in there.

I finally look into the sent mail, because I respond "received" to EVERY e-mail with a pick and I found nothing there.

There was no e-mail. I'm sure we lost a player for next year but I really don't care. I am going to try running this on Yahoo next year so there is no issue if the player doesn't meet the deadline.

Wow guess what?!?!?! I didn't make it out of week 1. I hate the Colts. I hope they get a raging team wide case of herpes.

RIP 2008 Patriots Season. Get well soon Tom. Not a dirty hit but I think a penalty should have been called. We will now see if Belichick "team over individual" thinking saves the team. 9-7 or 10-6 would be a great season now.
